Beside the Fire
On a dark and stormy Southern night, Beside the Fire's blend of American folk music, improvisational jazz, and energetic rock 'n' roll echoed through the hills and deep into the woods. They were playing what they believed to be their last show. Soon they would each embark on their own personal journeys.
Lead guitarist Charlie McCanless, packed his bags and headed North to Boston to unlock the secrets of his instrument at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Lead Vocalist, Lyricist, and Multi-Instrumentalist Jesse Iaquinto headed West to Asheville in the Blue Ridge Mountains to learn the traditional folk music of North America. Further South in Charlotte, Drummer and founding member Mark Romano continued to pursue his love of music. Back East, Carson White developed his already advanced understanding of the Bass Guitar in the town of Greenville, where Beside the Fire was formed.
Nearly two years later, the remarkable chemistry of these exceptional musicians, is once again brought together in an exciting and evolved sound, reminiscent of the past, conscious of the future, yet firmly rooted in the present.
Beside the Fire is also known to transform into a good time bluegrass band with the alias the Fireside String Band, playing old time bluegrass and modern favorites!
