Laura Reed
Laura Reed is a true musical experience, from her sultry introductory 'Hello, my name is Laura Reed...' to the final note of the evening. She has been making a name for herself internationally with her sincerely soulful vocals, songwriting, and performances. Over the years Laura has written and performed with a vast array of artists ranging from George Clinton to Peter Rowan.
From a young age she has been a traveling songstress starting as a street musician in Boone, NC to captivating massive audiences at festivals and venues worldwide. She was known as the front women of the Asheville, North Carolina based group "Laura Reed & Deep Pocket", and honed her chops as a performer and musician in these years. Since the Deep Pocket days she has been gathering valuable experience as a session artist, solo acoustic performer, and performing alongside music greats such as Yonrico Scott, Grant Green Jr., and Ike Stubblefield. She has been an extensive traveler, speaking and singing in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, and bringing these culutural influences into her musical stew. Laura has a diverse background, born in South Africa but growing up in the American South, it's very apparent that these varied influences have woven their way into her music and personal philosophy.
Laura Reed is a unique act that the world will continue to witness grow and blossom as she follows her path as an artist. She is currently working on her first solo album, collecting songs and sharing them in an uninhibited fashion that is authentically her own.
